On a recent visit, I was struck by the variety and quality of the offerings. From the moment I entered, the warm ambiance and welcoming service, led by attentive staff like the lovely Hazel, set the stage for a memorable meal. The café’s commitment to excellent customer service is reflected in every detail, making you feel right at home, whether you're stopping by for breakfast, lunch, or a leisurely afternoon tea.
The standout dishes are numerous, but let me highlight a few that have captured the hearts of patrons. The burger, as described by Anna O'Reilly, is nothing short of “scrumptious,” while the fish and chips—Arthur Waine’s favorite—are renowned for their crispiness and flavor. Simon, the skilled chef, takes pride in crafting a menu packed with a variety of delicious options, ensuring even the pickiest eaters find something to love.
Rick Robinson aptly warns not to underestimate this restaurant simply because it shares space with a garden center. The Arches is a destination in its own right, where outstanding quality reigns supreme. Pair your meal with a glass of wine or end on a sweet note with exquisite cakes like the sticky toffee pudding or jam roly poly, which Andrea praised.
Customers rave about the extensive menu, which caters not only to hearty appetites but also has lighter options and is dog-friendly, perfect for those looking to enjoy a day out without leaving their furry friends behind. And as Thomas Maughan noted, the cafe guarantees prompt service, serving up piping hot dishes that delight every time.

I tried the burger and it was scrumptious my other half tried the steak sandwich while it was roast beef and not steak it too was scrumptious . The home made apple crumble and custard and sticky toffee pudding tasted yummy

Don't be fooled by the fact that your journey starts by pulling into a garden centre car park. Although it is a very good one at that. So the restaurant within is absolutely not to be bypassed. The food is not cafe standard, and neither is the service. We eat here once a month at least. Food is outstanding, and throw in a glass of wine and cakes to die for and your dining is complete. You will not be disappointed. I have been through the menu and there is not a bad dish on it. Don't be shy.. go and enjoy a very nice lunch indeed.

This maybe a Garden Centre restaurant but the food and service is outstanding. My wife usually has the Sea Bass and I always have the large fish and chips. The food is excellent. The chef Simon, offers a great range of snacks and lunches. I am a fish and chips lover. Just ask for vinegar as and a small pot of tomato sauce. There is a lot more to choose from from the menu. Enjoy.

My wife and I have just visited this garden centre for the first time and the cafe/restaurant is an absolute gem! Great food, service with a smile from all the ladies and not a bunch of kid waitresses who don’t care. Food arrived quickly and was piping hot. The menu is also huge as well with something for everyone. I had an all day breakfast with OJ and my wife had an afternoon tea and it was about 23. This will be our new spot. Another huge bonus is they are dog friendly.

Never had a bad meal yet, must book to guarantee table, there is seating outside restaurant but still under cover of the garden centre dogs are aloud in this space.

Easy 5 stars, Honest home cooked food. Great quality coffee. Service and reasonable price a bonus. 6 people or more I’d suggest best to book a table

Lunch for 4 2 Hot Pots 2 Salmon dinners 5 Sweets All excellent extra praise for Jam Roly Poly

Visited this cafe today at 8.45am which opens at 9am so wasn’t quite open. Hazel was very helpful and made me a latte coffee ahead of opening, she made me feel welcome. Thank you, Hazel
